My Little Pony: Can this friendship you speak of drop the Bass?

Oh, my Celestia, everypony! I’m actually watching a Pony episode on the day it comes out and blogging about it. Also, this week I learned what a plot is. I very much enjoyed my little naïve bubble, but it popped. So now let’s stop with the stalling and write this guy.

Mr. and Mrs. Cake are flipping shits and nervous as all hell when they entrust Pinkie Pie their cake for the dessert show. Notice how Mrs. Cake can keep her act together and Mr. Cake is on the ground? Anypony? Well, anywho, every pony, donkey, and griffin gets on the train with their desserts and then falls asleep at three in the afternoon. Over the course of the evening while Pinkie guards the cake, ‘something’ comes and steals a couple bites. Together as Sherlock and Watson and Watson and Sherlock, Pinkie and Twilight have to solve the mystery and figure out who did it.

If you’ve read Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie, this episode is a takeoff and you should recognize the scenario. As much as I enjoy all of the allusions to movies, such as the James Bond bit, the silent movie scene, and the ninja part, it makes me sad that none of the younger ponies and fillies can understand.

Quote of the episode:

What? Is it a crime to change one’s style now and again? Why, I think it’s a crime not to!
—Rarity (it’s the most her thing ever said)
