(Brutal) Honesty in Advertising

I saw Nice Work if You Can Get It on Broadway this past Saturday and rather than do a full review I have come up with, what I feel, would be some accurate taglines for it.

Nice Work if You Can Get It: Just because it’s Gershwin doesn’t make it any less of a jukebox musical!

Nice Work if You Can Get It: See Matthew Broderick playing Matthew Broderick playing Leo Bloom in some side story to The Producers!

Nice Work if You Can Get It: Kelli O’Hara pretending she isn’t pretty and graceful!

Nice Work if You Can Get It: Wow, Jennifer Laura Thompson can make me sit through almost anything!

Nice Work if You Can Get It: Where talented performers are so poorly utilized it’s criminal!

Nice Work if You Can Get It: Why let the audience members make up their own minds when we can SHOUT OUR CONCLUSIONS at them?

Nice Work if You Can Get It: That got reeeaaalllyyyy uncomfortably close to incest there.

Nice Work if You Can Get It: Love is really about how much someone aggravates you.

Nice Work if You Can Get It: Bet you wish you were still seeing Billy Elliot in this theater, huh?
