Web Crush Wednesdays: Superfruit

Happy Wednesday! Today’s Web Crush is my newest YouTube obsession, and when I say obsession, I mean it. The channel in question is none other than Superfruit!

Superfruit is comprised of two of the members of the band Pentatonix, Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi. The two are talented musicians and it’s awesome to see their passion for music in videos such as their Beyoncé medley. My personal preference, however, is when they have silly fun in their videos, such as their Frozen medley with Pentatonix bandmate Kirstie Maldonado:

This is what really got me into their videos: their uninhibited sense of fun and the obvious friendship between the two. Watching Scott and Mitch (or Scomiche, as they’ve dubbed themselves) together is honestly kind of like seeing evidence of that cheesy “A friend is one soul inhabiting two bodies” quote because they are so in tune with each other. It’s hilarious how alike they are sometimes and how they get on the same wavelength.

Because of their obvious closeness, many fans ship the two romantically. While they’ve made it fairly clear (or not-so clear, sometimes) that they are not dating and think of each other as sisters, they’re willing to have fun with the ship and even act out some of the fanfiction.

Scott and Mitch aren’t the first YouTubers to act out their own fanfiction, but they absolutely slayed it. I’m pretty sure this is the definitive “Fanfic in Real Life” video out there.

Now all of this is great, but I can tell you still need a little convincing, so what is the last checkpoint that all YouTubers must go through in order to be true Fiyero Webcrushes? A Grace Helbig collaboration. Does Superfruit meet this requirement? Yes. Absolutely.
