Sleepy Hollow: “Novus Ordo Seclorum” Review

sleepy-hollow-season-3Time for the fall finale! That came awfully fast; it feels like the new season just started. This week’s episode was full of suspense and badassery, although I won’t lie and say I wasn’t confused at times.

Sleepy Hollow: “The Sisters Mills” Review

sleepy-hollow-season-3Well, Sleepy Hollow is still continuing to improve itself from last season and I am more than happy with the results. Once again, Pandora is back and accompanied by another scary monster for our witnesses to face off against. All the while, Abbie struggles with telling Jenny about their father, and Ichabod procrastinates studying for his exams in order to become a citizen and instead plays some video games. All that gets put on hold, however, when they learn about Pandora’s latest monster and team up with Jenny and Joe to kill it.

Sleepy Hollow: “Blood and Fear” Review

sleepy-hollow-season-3What do Ichabod Crane and Jack the Ripper have in common? Aside from answering that question—one I didn’t think I’d ever have to ask—this episode laid a lot of groundwork for what’s hopefully on the way in the upcoming episodes.

Sleepy Hollow: “Whispers in the Dark” Review

Sleepy Hollow Season 3Sleepy Hollow continues to be charming, even when its plot is less than intense. Honestly, though, I’m so glad we’ve continued to review this series after the trainwreck that was Season 2. If you like your American history flavored with liberal artistic license, along with a heaping helping of cheese, supernatural elements, and romantic subtext, this is the show for you. We’re only two episodes in so far, but hopefully this season continues along this entertaining road. Minor spoilers after the jump!

Sleepy Hollow: “I, Witness” Review

Sleepy Hollow Season 3Welcome back, everyone, to our weekly Sleepy Hollow reviews. Yes, Season 3 premiered last night, and if our premiere episode is anything to go by, this year will be so much better than last year. Season 2 was definitely not the show’s strongest point, but “I, Witness” almost made me forget all the badness that happened. This episode calls back to the good old days when Sleepy Hollow was significantly more fun to watch. We got our creepy monster-of-the-week terrorizing the community, Ichabod discovers that restaurants designed after colonial times are nothing like colonial times, and Abbie’s got her dream job at the FBI. Making this episode even better was Jenny popping up and she and Ichabod having cheesy moments together where they bond over being social outcasts.

As I said, this episode was awesome, so look out for spoilers up ahead.

Sexualized Saturdays: Noodle’s Top 10 Headcanon Bi Characters

I basically live for representation of LGBTQ+ characters. As a bi person, I’m especially starved for good bi representation. Unfortunately, such characters are especially difficult to come by. Then there are wonderful characters who could be great bisexuals, and that’s where headcanons come in. A headcanon is something that is not explicitly stated in the text, but doesn’t contradict it either, and you like to imagine it’s true. It’s not as great as actual representation, but it can be great fun and provide comfort when actual representation isn’t there. So, today I want to share with you my Top 10 characters whom I like to imagine are bisexual and who would make excellent representation if they were made canonically bisexual.

Sleepy Hollow: “Tempus Fugit” Review

sleepy hollow season 2 bannerOh my gosh, you guys, Sleepy Hollow finally returned to its former glory just in time for the season finale. Even though we don’t yet know if there will be a third season or not, I really hope there will be. All season long, the writers have been cleverly tricking us into thinking they’re incompetent, and now they give us this? They could write all along! You’re not fooling anyone, Sleepy Hollow writers!

Sleepy Hollow: “Awakening” Review

sleepy hollow season 2 bannerWell, as Sleepy Hollow has been getting consistently worse these past few weeks, with only the occasional good episode shoved in with a myriad of bad ones, I had no hopes that “Awakening” would have any redeeming qualities. Even worse, I didn’t care. I literally only watched this episode because I’m the person scheduled to review it. So, was it any good?

Well, yes, actually, it was. “Awakening” had a lot of moments in it that I was happy to see. Unfortunately, it also had a lot of bad moments, too, that had me rolling me eyes. I’m also beginning to question if there’s a single part of American history that Ichabod Crane hasn’t shaped. Did you know he’s the one who cracked the Liberty Bell?

Sleepy Hollow: “Spellcaster” Review

sleepy hollow season 2 bannerIt’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a Sleepy Hollow episode, and almost as long since I’ve watched one, but after a small mini-marathon yesterday morning, I was raring to go for last night’s episode. With Hawley out of the way and only a few episodes left in the season, I figured the writers would be bringing their A-game. It was therefore doubly disappointing to discover that “Spellcaster” wasn’t really anything to write home about. Spoilers after the jump!
