Teen Wolf: “The Last Chimera” Review

So, this is the season premiere of Teen Wolf… or is it the midseason premiere? I’m gonna be honest: the long hiatuses in between Teen Wolf are really starting to confuse me. I literally thought that I was going to be watching the Season 6 premiere, but whatever. Anyway, this apparent start to the second half of Teen Wolf‘s fifth season was just kind of meh. I’m not as enthused about Teen Wolf anymore, and neither are many of the other writers here, which is why we won’t be reviewing every episode this season. And I really don’t know what to say about this episode, because other than a few stand-out moments this was really just a lot more of the same for Teen Wolf—and not in a good way.

Trailer Tuesdays: Teen Wolf Season 5 Part B

Is it January yet? The Teen Wolf trailer for the second half of Season 5 is out and while it still looks much darker than I would like Teen Wolf to be, I am pleased with some of the things we see in this trailer and a bit confused by the absence of others.

Teen Wolf: “Status Asthmaticus” Review

After a weird and kind of frustrating half a season, we’ve finally reached the mid-season finale. And although I got to get Cozy with Posey afterward on Wolf Watch, I don’t know if any number of puppies can me feel better about “Status Asthmaticus”.

Teen Wolf: “A Novel Approach” Review

Last week we ended on a hell of a cliffhanger—Donovan had been souped up with weird wendigo powers by the Doctors and was going after Stiles, and meanwhile Parrish was burning dead supernaturals’ bodies on the nemeton with no conscious knowledge of doing so. This week’s episode starts off tense, right where last week left off, and things only get worse for our pack from there.

Teen Wolf: “Parasomnia” Review

Welcome back again, everyone, for the second part of our season’s opening. And I think I can safely say that “Parasomnia” was a huge improvement from “Creatures of the Night”. Not only do we meet a new character and get to see Mason some more, this episode managed to be significantly creepy without even a mention of Eichen House. In fact, Arkham 2.0 wasn’t in this episode at all, and that is an improvement in and of itself.

Teen Wolf: “Creatures of the Night” Review

Another summer, another season of Teen Wolf for us to delight (or, more likely, despair) over! I wasn’t much looking forward to it coming back, and the episode wasn’t much to write home about, to be honest, but it was nice to revisit the pack (or, what of the pack is left) that I’ve come to love.

However, this episode wasted no time in jumping right into the most icky, disturbing Eichen House plotline possible, so consider this your trigger (for ableism, abuse, and general Eichen House terribleness) and spoiler warning right off the bat.

Trailer Tuesdays: Teen Wolf Season 5

Oh, Teen Wolf, how I have missed our love-hate relationship. I can’t say that I liked Season 4 all that much—Peter was once again a prominent character, and the benefactor storyline should have been about Meredith instead. Then there’s Eichen House, the poor man’s Arkham Asylum, and Teen Wolf should just throw that place and all its ableist undertones away forever. Hopefully, Season 5 will be better.

Well, judging from that, it looks like Eichen House is sticking around for a while longer, and nothing else on Lady Geek Girl’s wishlist will come true either. So I guess that also means that Danny won’t be coming back, or that the show won’t devote much time to LGBTQ+ representation. God damn it.

Magical Mondays: Teen Wolf Does Banshees

‘Tis the month of Halloween, so I’m gonna try and talk about creepy things for most of my posts this month. What’s creepier than wailing spirits keening out warnings of imminent death? Teen Wolf formally introduced banshees into their expansive mythos in Season 3 (though they hinted at it in Season 2). However, as is wont to happen in Beacon Hills, consistency and continuity got a little wacky. Join me on a mad-camp romp through the world of Teen Wolf banshees. Teen Wolf: “Monstrous” Review

Last week, Teen Wolf left us all wondering what the hell was going on when it revealed that Meredith was both alive and the Benefactor. This week, we learn that maybe Meredith isn’t as evil as we may have initially thought, Peter is still an asshole, and more hunters and assassins attempt to murder everyone.
