Another summer, another season of Teen Wolf for us to delight (or, more likely, despair) over! I wasn’t much looking forward to it coming back, and the episode wasn’t much to write home about, to be honest, but it was nice to revisit the pack (or, what of the pack is left) that I’ve come to love.
However, this episode wasted no time in jumping right into the most icky, disturbing Eichen House plotline possible, so consider this your trigger (for ableism, abuse, and general Eichen House terribleness) and spoiler warning right off the bat.
Well, The Walking Dead has finally returned for what will be another season I will probably both love and hate. In the season opening, despite how we last left our characters—they were about to be cannibalized by the people at Terminus—we surprisingly have no major character deaths and even get a happy ending for once.
I’m not sure whether to be excited for this season, or to dread it. Last season left me very ambivalent—parts of it, like the Governor’s storyline, I really hated. Yet some things, such as “The Grove”, I absolutely adored. I can only hope this season has learned from the shortcomings of the last one.
Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve talked about this cartoon, and the last time I left off, I was still in the middle of the third season, but I’m finally all caught up now. I take this time to now say that many of my criticisms for the show as a whole were given a little premature. Sure, I still don’t like the personifications of the Force and I maintain that the first two seasons were pretty mediocre, and I also maintain that being Star Wars, there is a little bit of sexism going on. Furthermore, characters like Asajj Ventress and Lux Bonteri have made reappearances. Despite my critiques of the third season, that’s where the show started to pick up. I was not a huge fan of the following season, but it had some amazing episodes, such as reintroducing Darth Maul into canon. The fifth season is possibly one of the best seasons of any cartoon. It’s not perfect, but it is enough to make me almost want to take back anything bad I ever said about the show.
