Rebels’s third season wrapped up just a couple weeks ago, and yet the trailer for Season 4 has already dropped. Sadly, as much as I love this show, this is going to be the last season, which is probably for the best. Season 4 should end right around the time Rogue One starts, and unless something drastic happens to Rebels’s main characters, their absence in the original trilogy will be a pretty big plot hole. After all, at no point in time did anyone go up to Luke and say, “hey, here’s a couple other Jedi you might like to meet.”
Star Wars Rebels’s third season wrapped up just a few days ago. I can’t say the season had everything that I ever wanted, but it certainly had enough of those things, and even a few more storytelling decisions that I didn’t realize I needed in my life. The entire season, our favorite Rebel cell and the rest of the people under Commander Sato worked hard on plans to attack the Imperial factory on Lothal and deal a massive blow to the Empire. Unfortunately for them, the main villain this time around was Grand Admiral Thrawn, who spent the season searching for the Rebel base on Atollon, and it’s Thrawn’s plans that come to fruition instead.
Let’s face it, 2016 was tough, and 2017 doesn’t look to be much easier. So let’s delve into some of our favorite geeky romantic pairings to help us cope! The Star Wars universe is no stranger to dark subject matter in both its live-action and animated narratives. Throughout the movies and shows (and I assume the canonical comics and books that I still have not read), the series takes us to some really gruesome places.
One recurring character in both The Clone Wars and Rebels is Rex. A war veteran, Rex is a capable and valuable member of the Rebellion and probably the most well-developed clone in the Star Wars universe. One of the problems with having a story filled with so many characters, though, is that the narrative doesn’t always have time to fully delve into their issues. At the very least, though, Star Wars tries, and while the story occasionally rushes through certain character arcs, its results are not horrible. This is most definitely the case with a recent Rebels episode “The Last Battle”, where we finally get to see more from Rex and his PTSD from fighting in the Clone Wars.
The part of me that’s a Star Wars fan has been in overdrive these past few months. With the release of Rogue One, the new season of Rebels, and Carrie Fisher’s death, I’ve been having all the feels. Due to health reasons, however, I actually fell behind watching Rebels this year, and I didn’t manage to get caught up until recently. I’m still not happy that my favorite character Ahsoka Tano is gone from the story, but she has never been the only reason I watched the show. There are still plenty of good things about Rebels to go around, and at this point, if you’re a Star Wars fan and you haven’t been watching the show, you need to.
Season 3 of Star Wars Rebels is finally upon us and its opening two-part episode “Steps into Shadow” aired just a few days ago. After the fallout from Season 2, all of the characters are struggling to find their place in the galaxy as they attempt to figure out how to move forward. The opening episodes answered a few questions, but they left us with many more, and as the season progresses, we’re probably going to start seeing the Rebel cause become bigger and bigger.
Star Wars Rebels’s second season wrapped up just a little bit ago, and that was one of the most intense season finales I’ve witnessed. Once again, Rebels proved that it is anything but a mediocre story. The second season progressed the development of all our characters, concluded most of the major current arcs in a pretty satisfying way, and threw our main cast into complete disarray. While some endings have left me a little sad—albeit not for bad storytelling purposes—I am more than excited to see where Season 3 takes everyone when it finally comes around.

Yep, it’s Valentine’s Day, that sickeningly sweet holiday when our authors nominate and then vote on ships for our Top 20 Romantic Couples in Geekdom (10 Canon/10 Fanon) list. Many were nominated, but only a select few made the cut.
The second half of Rebels’s latest season has already started airing and we’re already a few episodes in, so I am getting to this trailer just a little late. Regardless, with the exception of Leia’s introduction, most of what we see in the trailer hasn’t happened yet. This is unfortunate, because every moment of this trailer is filled with awesome, and so far, the same looks to be true for all the actual episodes. Take a look:
